Maarten Baas
Born in Germany, Maarten Baas is a Dutch furniture designer whose work straddles the worlds of art and design. After studying at Design Academy Eindhoven, his graduate exhibition was discovered by Moooi, which served as something of a catalyst for his career. His work has been collected by institutions around the world, including Melbourne’s NGV. He joins Suzy Annetta to discuss how his career came about as well as his approach to life and work. Keiji Ashizawa
Since starting out in 1996, Keiji Ashizawa has become one of Japan’s leading contemporary architects. In 2005 he founded his own studio, Keiji Ashizawa Design, and in 2011 helped found Ishinomaki Laboratory with the goal of supporting the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake In this episode, Ashizawa sits down with Suzy Annetta for a conversation about the way he thinks, lives and works.
