Design Shanghai Launches Design Shenzhen
Design Shanghai, one of Asia’s foremost design fairs, will launch Design Shenzhen in December 2022 with more than 200 participating brands and installations, making it the largest event of its kind in the city
Launching in December 2022, Design Shenzhen looks set to be exactly what one expects from the creators of Design Shanghai: contemporary, modern and driven by design. Following pandemic-related delays that scuppered its launch in 2021, the event will now take place from 1-4 December, with over 200 participating brands and installations.
Design Shanghai, one of the region’s largest and most influential design fairs, announced Design Shenzhen as a new addition to its event portfolio, bringing to the manufacturing city an event tailored to architects, interior designers, property developers and the design-savvy public. Shenzhen will become the third city to host Design Shanghai events, following Design China Beijing’s Sustainable Design China Summit.
Dubbed the Silicon Valley of China, Shenzhen is home to leading tech company headquarters as well as arts, culture and design businesses and institutions, not to mention the concentration of landmark architectural projects that have been built by prominent international and Chinese architecture firms.
For its first outing. Design Shenzhen expects to welcome more than 50,000 visitors, including leading architects, interior designers and property developers from the Greater Bay Area, as well as China’s professional buyers and specifiers, key decision makers from the private and public sectors, and design-aware consumers.
Highlights of Design Shenzhen include the Design Forum, themed Regenerative Design — Design for Wellbeing: Humanity, Sustainability, Technology; Good Design Select, the China debut of G-MARK JAPAN GOOD DESIGN AWARD; the Rural Futures Award, China’s first architectural practice award for sustainable rural construction; and TALENTS, an exhibition of emerging Chinese designers curated by Frank Chou.
Design Shenzhen will take place from 1-4 December 2022 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Find out more and register to attend
