André Fu Debuts a New Suite at The Upper House
Ten years after the launch of The Upper House hotel, designed by the then relatively unknown André Fu, the designer — now renowned the world over for his uniquely refined aesthetic — has returned with a new namesake suite
Situated on the 48th level of Hong Kong’s The Upper House hotel, André Fu’s newly designed 180-square-metre suite is a celebration of the enduring relationship between Fu and The Upper House. Speaking about the revival of this landmark collaboration, Fu says that, ‘This is a golden opportunity for The Upper House and myself to review the synergy of our original design philosophy of a decade ago with my current aesthetics expressed through the André Fu Living collection.’
The design of the new suite epitomises Fu’s philosophy of relaxed luxury, and presents an opportunity to showcase new pieces from his lifestyle collection, including new wallpaper designs for British heritage brand de Gournay. In addition to a curated selection of homewares and accessories from Fu’s collection, the suite also features Fu’s sketches of the hotel’s original design and a selection of books from the designer’s own library.
Echoing the colour palette of the world-famous harbour views beyond, the well-appointed suite is a restrained medley of mineral blues, dusty mink and ivory shades, complemented by subtle textures and finishes. Fu’s singular vision and exacting eye for detail are exemplified in this new suite, creating a totally immersive experience for The Upper House guests.
