BEAST, one of China's most exciting lifestyle brands, has recently opened the doors to a new concept space in Shanghai in partnership with Danish brand GUBI. Located in a restored mansion in the French Concession, this is GUBI’s first concept space outside of Denmark.

The 100-year-old heritage-listed residence has undergone a significant five-year renovation, and the sensitive yet striking transformation of this culturally significant 500-square-metre building was overseen by up-and-coming local interior design firm Chaos Programme.

Spread over three floors, the space has been divided into a cafe and courtyard, showrooms for hospitality and residential (both of which double as event spaces), and a boutique two-key hotel.

Amber Shang, founder of BEAST, says that GUBI — one of the brand’s earliest design brand partners — embodies a classic, elegant style that seamlessly complements BEAST’s lifestyle offering.
