Proper Hotel

Situated right on the triangle of McAllister, Market and 7th Street in Mid-Market, San Francisco in a landmark flatiron-shaped building from the 1920s is the Proper Hotel. Los Angeles-based interior designer Kelly Wearstler is responsible for the eclectic interiors that display her signature anachronistic mix of styles, patterns and colours. With under 200 rooms, the hotel feels intimate and boutique in atmosphere — but not in stature. A cafe and market, all-day restaurant-slash-lounge and a rooftop bar round out the dining options.
