Set in the world-leading multicultural hub of Tokyo, Designart Tokyo brings creativity to the city across multiple disciplines.
The main venue for this milestone tenth edition will be the KK Line, the core of the Tokyo Expressway, which once served as a vital piece of urban infrastructure supporting Japan’s era of rapid economic growth. Restyled as Autobahn / KK Line after Germany no-speed-limit expressway, the venue embraces a no-limit approach to expanding the possibilities of art and design. Here, emerging architectural design studio Altemy will create a temporary structure within a venue spanning 4,000 square meters.
Within this main venue, normally off-limits to the public, visitors can access exhibits from Japan and abroad as well as the Autobahn Design Store and the Park & Cafe. Daily talks will also be held. The store is curated by Jean-Luc Colonna d‘Istria, who is known for innovative retail concepts in Europe and whose passion for Japan dates back to 1986.
